Express decorations for the Christmas table

Christmas is coming soon! We will take advantage of the few days off which we are given to invite people who are dear to us and have not been seen for a long time.

This year, I propose you to go out of the traditional red and green combo in favor of a more refined Scandinavian style. I have selected ideas to create a beautiful table in neutral and soothing colors such as white, gray and black. The atmosphere is warmed by natural elements such as wood, mossy greenery, fir, cedar and rosemary, and the addition of small white lights will bring the magical effect of a starry night.


I have selected these ideas taking care that they are pretty but especially that they are easily realizable so that you have time to have fun and relax.


General atmosphere

For a Nordic style table, watchword is: simplicity.

As you can see here, the tablecloth is superfluous when you have a rustic wooden table. We put the plates directly on the beautiful table.

A table runner is created by arranging fir branches, cocottes and nuts in the center. Black or white candles arranged through the fir tree give height to the whole without affecting the visibility of your guests.

Plates and utensils

When choosing plates and utensils, think clean lines.

Stop your choice on little or no pattern for plates, colors such as black, white or gray and materials like ceramics. The choice of polished brass finish for the utensils brings a refined touch to the set and creates an interesting contrast with the more rustic finish.

I really like the idea of rosemary branches tied with a simple velvet ribbon. It would be equally appropriate to use jute rope or even butcher's string!


Markers

Here are markers ready in two swings!

Spray a casserole with black paint for an elegant look. Then you cut out a star in a white card and write the name of your guest in black pencil. You could use black cardboard and a white wood pencil to give your creation a "blackboard" look.
